For a leading Secondary Mortgage Firm, michael d. joyce took the leading role in the design and implementation of the technical architecture for a Portfolio Position Monitoring System (PPM). This multi-tiered J2EE based system was built using Java Swing and Oracle on Weblogic Servers. The PPM is an interactive tool used by Traders and Designators of mortgage assets allowing them to monitor real-time positions of Whole Loans and Securities and designate or re-designate inventory between trading accounts.

For a major Financial Institution, michael d. joyce assisted with the design and implementation of three mission critical Trading and Accounting and Control systems. The Security Trading Accounting and Tracking System (STATS) performs inventory tracking and on-going accounting management for mortgage backed securities trading. Cash Reconciliation and Control (CRC) is a web based application designed to conduct daily cash settlement reconciliation. The CRC ensures case settlement activities reconcile with cash account balances at the Federal Reserve. The Early Lender Funding Accounting System (ELFAS) provides the funding desk with three standard product lines. These are Sooner than Pooled (STP), As Soon As Pooled Plus (ASAP Plus) and As Soon As Pooled Sale (ASAP Sale).

For a major aircraft supplier and the airline industry, developed an eProcurement Marketplace designed to align buyers and sellers in the aerospace industry together using web based technology. Provided integration and procurement consultancy services – primary role was to assist the airlines and suppliers with their procurement strategies to make best use of the tools offered. Our services also covered requirements gathering, account management, BETA test management & validation services.

Developed and implemented the following products and tools:

eSOURCE – where Airlines and OEMs list surplus items, catalogs and pools of equipment for loan and borrow, the database carried approximately 15 million items.
RFQ – a product to allow a buyer to electronically submit an RFQ to pre-determined suppliers (based on the supplier’s industry sector, ability to supply and relationship with the buyer) and solicit quotes. Quotes used a scorecard system so the buyer could identify what data points were critical to them (for example, price, time to deliver, part manufacturer, original or PMA part). The RFQ product was being enhanced to allow mass upload of required goods and services that the buyer used on a regular basis, and then sent out automatically to the proposed sellers. In addition, another feature of searching the catalogs and services database for additional suppliers (based on pre-defined criteria) was being specified.
Auction tools – the premium tool that generated revenue was the reverse auction tool. This allowed a buyer to offer a requirement to suppliers, who would then bid against each other to fulfill the buyer’s requirements. This introduced an important element of competitive tension between suppliers and often resulted in 20 – 45% savings to the buyer. The goods and services sold included support services, land sales, airport construction services, power sourcing, and fuel sourcing, to name a few.
System to system connection tools – using products such as Vitria and Multilink to connect major buyers EDI and OMS systems to suppliers EDI and OMS systems.
Service tracking tools – a service that enabled an airline to track the status of parts that were sent off for repair or servicing.

michael d. joyce has been instrumental in supporting customers with the investigation, research, analysis, development and support of Microsoft and SharePoint technology. Related efforts have entailed custom development (.NET 3.0) to systems integration focused on SharePoint, Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF), SQL Server and Reporting and Analysis services. Highlights of our support have included:

Introducing Digital Asset Library (DAL), Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, and Window Workflow Foundation and other related software to increase operational efficiencies.
Development of the Restatement Collaboration Portal for FannieMae’s external auditors Deloitte and Touche to track project activities, issue requests and reporting.
Developed custom workflow that allowed data and document requests to connect to a default list of web services provided by SharePoint. These Web Service scripts allowed lists to query other lists through SOAP envelopes and perform actions such as add, update, delete, and select items from other lists. In addition, we provided custom Data Views, which gathered data through SharePoint Web Services and filtered the data displayed by parameters passed on to the Query String.
Developed a SharePoint Database that allowed Deloitte & Touche auditors to place requests to FannieMae Workstreams. In addition, created a Reporting Infrastructure and Reporting mechanisms to automatically generate reports for executives.
Planned an Enterprise Architecture and Front End Architecture for SharePoint 2007 to be utilized at the presentation layer to access other data silos.
Planned and managed execution of SharePoint migration for 2003 to 2007.
Developed and constructed prototypes using MOSS 2007, CorasWorks Programs and Windows Workflow Foundation for data management and collaboration, business workflow, reporting, content indexing and search requirements.
Develop web based applications on the .NET platform in a RAD environment.
